On Coronado Island near San Diego, montipora skeletons go for $86! Maybe those of you out there with big monti frags would get some more cash if you dried them out and sold 'em to unsuspecting tourists?

Just got back from a trip down there and thought I'd share my discoveries with all of you good people! Beautiful island, everyone out there was really nice (and I found some cool tide pools on the beach, but those are pictures for a different thread :D)

Woo hoo just another reason for the locals to plunder the reef. :(

Montiporas do not grow in the ocean off Southern California.

Lol that funny. You could almost buy it alive for that price.

Funny you should say that, not too long ago someone in my local club was selling a colony just a bit smaller than that for about fifteen bucks less :D

You gotta love studip tourists, but you gotta love the people pulling these things off the reef even more........idiots!

:mad2:
