Coral RX for Smooth Skin SPS? AEFW Treatment Schedule?

I used to use Bayer and now I'm using Coral RX. Bayer seemed to be a little harsh on smooth skin ones but I also noticed that after RX they were still very stressed and the tips looked like "burned."

Any suggestions on the dipping material? Should I dip deep water & non-deepwater separately so that I give smooth skin acros a lower dosage?

My tank is currently infected with AEFW so I'm dipping every acro every time and I set up a schedule like this:

2 times per week for 4 weeks and once per week for the next 4 weeks.

After the first mass dipping the deep water ones aren't happy at all. I also didn't notice any bite marks / AEFW on them.

Please share your expereience / suggestions.

Thanks!

I dipped with Revive and didnt lose any corals. I dipped twice weekly for first two weeks and then every 5-6 days after that I recall.

With any dip and smooth skinned acros, you have to adjust the dipping time or dip strength. I usually dip smooth skinned acros for around 1/2 the time I dip the other acros.

I usually dip in Bayer, but as stated above , at a shorter duration.I'm doing a dip routine now as well.It seems once the big ones are gone, you can lower the strength some. It seems the little ones are easier to kill.I also shortened the duration from 15 to 10 minutes, but always dipped the smooth skin at 10.I haven't had issues with burning any smooth skin yet.
I'm 4 weeks in, dipping once a week now. Didn't see any or eggs last dip, but going to continue another 4 weeks .HTH's, wish there were a easy fix for the little #@!&^'s

What concentration of bayer are you using for the 10 minute dip? I've got Bayer but have no experience of using it. I've always used Revive.

10 ml per cup, 8oz. dip water.I'm doing 5 gallons dip water at a time for my full tank dipping now. Scaled it down slightly, 20 oz, to 5 gallon dip water.
I can do the whole tank in about 4 rounds this way.
I think most people have been using the 5-10 ml per 8 oz, 10-15 min.
I always used the 10 ml ratio, 15 min. for new stuff, 10 min. if smooth skin.
I must of missed some eggs at some point, now I have this fun. :)

That's the thing about Bayer - everyone has their own way of treating AEFW. Some do several mL some do 5 some do 10 mL. I used to do 5mL per cup & 10 mins and at that level many got burned on their tips so I stopped using Bayer because for many it's overkill. I have no idea if 10 mL is better than 5 mL or maybe 2 mL is just what's needed. Coral RX also seems to burn their tips a little bit but not too much.

in my experience coral rx is a definate no no for smooth skin acros. the flesh literally flakes off in the dip. it was fine for everything else though.

What would you recommend for smooth skin?

Well last 3 dips one week, two week and three weeks between each. No bugs, eggs, or bite marks.Maybe they all gone.I'll go another 4 weeks and check again.
