Coral Tank from Canada (1350gal Display Tank)

Not much of an update today but we got our first LED light to test out. I was pleasantly surprised. I've only seen mass produced LED fixtures so far so they have been dim and lacking in shimmer. This one is bright, lots of shimmer, with and pretty good coverage even in Peter's tank. Initial PAR tests came out low, but there is more to reef lighting than PAR. We will do some more tests over the weekend and report the results back. It's great to have a visual reference to look at before MACNA.

you can replace the "scharfe s (ß)" with two "ss"... ;-) - and I wonder if you need it for this computer

and with the new German orthography a lot of ß have been replaced by double s

Being a Electrician I'm curious about the motors, i figure them being motors they should work fine and i would stay away from changing the freq too. I install motors all the time and usually they come from different countries and as long as i feed them the correct voltage and enough amps they run fine.

Cant wait till you fire them up I'm really curious about the water movement in the tank especially when you guys did so much research into it.

Keep on trucking you guys are doing a great job fueling my dreams of copying and topping this system. As as many have said it wont be likely without winning the lottery (which is tomorrow i might add, wish me luck lol)

Your going to have a awesome reef tank in no time Peter =P keep on being patient.


P.S. when is your first Water change and whats your plan on that=P

Halostalker, here are a few answers in no particular order.........

I am feeding the fish, thank you very much and I'll have you know they have only missed one meal.

The first water change will probably be when I return from Orlando. Without too much wildlife in the tank we have a reasonable reprieve and I want to get as much data on the quality of the water in the tank now before I change it.

So far without the closed system in full operation we are very pleased with the movement of the water in the top of the water column. I will be running a number of tests and demonstrations of the pumping solutions in the very near future so stay tuned for that.

Oh man cmon guys dont leak the BIG Macna announcement before the show, now we will have to make it in pink instead of yellow!

Next everyone will be expecting a colour screen with high def instead of the planned cathode ray black and white screen we have been working on!

That may not be a bad idea. Those old sets lasted over 20 years and all they needed was a firm whack on the side when they didn't work. You could pull out the channel knob for parental control and when you're done with it, it makes a great frame for a nano tank.
 
So any word on this dinner thursday night me and the wife were thinking of driving to orlando just for the dinner would love to meet everyone especially Peter and Mr. Wilson. That is if its still going on and we are invited of course :)

I haven't confirmed the location yet but I can say we will meet in the lobby close to the reservation desk ( I am assuming this is a convenient location) at 7: pm. I will leave info at the desk for any late arrivals that still can get there at a reasonable time. If I can get the details ahead of time I will post it here..........Oh and terry you meet the criteria....you have posted on this thread and your spouse is welcome.
