Coralife 65 Skimmer on 75gal

I was curious if the Coralife 65 skimmer would be good for a 75gal tank? Esp since a 75gal is only 65-66gals lol. The tank is going to be FOWLR. Reef fish not predatory. Bro's on a budget and had a mishap with the one I was going to buy off Acer at the meeting : ( so need to find a decent skimmer. It's only 89.99 @ Petsolution.com

I had the 125 on my 75g. IMO that was just enough with a medium bioload. I got an ASM G3 used that is on my tank now. You can ask around and see if anyone is selling a used skimmer.

I know vr697getta has the 220 on his tank and just bought a used ASM. You might pm him and see if he is looking to sell his 220.

I am working on fixing up the skimmer that was broken at the meeting - tomorrow - I will let you know if it is fixable or not.

You might be able to see if he'd bite at $100 - but you would need to buy a new pump. Still, that would be a very good deal for a Euro-reef and much more effective than the coralife 65 skimmer

I haven't used this brand (I can vouch for the Euro-reef) so can't speak to its performance but it is rated for 150+ gallons. I have seen it in action at a local pet store and it seemed to be pulling out lots of skimmate

That is a good deal for a Euro reef skimmer- especially with the gate valve modification. You could use my modified oceanrunner pump to go with it.

If you are looking for a new skimmer, Premium Aquatics has the Vertex Internal Pinwheel Skimmer 80 listed for $135. I never owned one but I read some good reviews.
