If its for the 55g fixture, those bulbs were ushio. If one stopped working and you are only going to replace one than you would want to stay with the same brand otherwise the color could be off.

It is for the 55. I think the bulbs are old and I had a new Coralife in the package already and wanted to keep them the same...
You wasn't sure of the life of the bulbs either..I just think they might be old cause I just cant control the algae issue. Glass has to be cleaned twice a day and still looks green in there.
Those were 14K, right?

The bulbs in there were 20k. I doubt the age of the bulbs would be the cause of the algae. The original owner was in the hobby for less than 2 years and replaced the factory ones once so the Ushio's shouldnt be all that old. Your algae could be caused the lights being on too long in new setup maybe.

I am getting kind of confused with the cycling of a new tank cause I used live rock from his nano and some from my 90gal. Substrate was from someone else(not live) and I did water changes from my 90 and filled his tank with the take out water. Is there still a cycling process that will take place and if so what time length should these lights be on for now?
