Coralline Orange Good or Bad

Need assistance.

Found patches of bright orange coralline growing on live rock. Did some searching online and found information on Coralline Lethal Orange Disease but it does not say what to do with the rock if you suspect it. Throw it out; isolate it and give it time. The live rock that it is growing on is worth saving if possible. The orange can be described as hard not slimy; no filaments; I am not sure if it can be scraped off or not. Advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Side note we have been working on balancing out the chemistry of the tank so lots of water changes; buffering; etc. Tank is a 90 gallon with about 200 lbs or rock in it. We just converted the lighting from power compacts to T5 lighting moving back from a fish only to coral system.

I've had some spots of bright, neon orange coralline. It turned maroon in a week or so...

I've had a few very small patches of Orange and red/orange coralline on some of my rock. Its stayed about the same and i wish it would spread!!! I've been using Purple Up religiously and i'm hoping that it wont make the orange dissappear. It's been in my tank for at least 18 months and water quality is great so i would assume that there are no adverse affects to this orange algae.

I have soome orange!

thank you for the photos!
of course is algae coralline!
the picture is clear!

What characters in the photo are you using to determine it is a coralline alga and not an encrusting, fleshy alga?

when you orange on your live . Comes in two different way.
1. orange coraline plus green, purple, green it be one big family.
2. Orange with hair, cyan, green all the bad family.
First is a great treat. I had the second one.

I am pretty sure that orange/brown algae in Adam's pictures is Lobophora. I consider it a nuisance algae. It can grow fast and has inhibited growth of some of my corals. I remove it now as soon as it pops up.

You freaked me out for a second, did some online reseach and it is definitely not Lobophora. My rock is old, about seven years and this algae did not appear until I bought MH lights last fall. It covers about 20% of my rock after about six months and only where it is exposed to direct lighting.
I like it as it adds abit more colour to my rocks, but I would not want it to take over tho!

The only bright orange coraline I have seen is underneath the rocks (sometime bright pink as well) and that is because it is dead coraline. The same thing happens with some red/maroon algaes that turn super pink or orange when dying. Just my experience.
