Corals won at Raffle

I thought I would mention a rule we came up with some years ago and have not mentioned in a long time.

When you win something nice in the raffle you need to grow it out and donate a piece back to the raffle. If we can get things to grow and survive this will help with growing the corals in the raffle and tend to not cost much.

I would also like to mention to try and donate corals to the raffle when ever possible. This will also help the raffle corals to grow.

Thank you to all the members that have been generous with donating to the raffle Especially Grant who has been the leader of the pack for some time.

Thank Grant!

Like we bought a Inland saw to cut up hard corals (like acans, etc)...
And we've used it to bring in new corals into the group so we are not always just swapping the same corals in an endless cycle.

Guys I found a distributer selling jf bloodshots for $80 pp if anyone is interested? Also they have bowsers for $200pp

@Kenny-those prices are way too high. You should only be paying $50 or 60 at the most per polyp for the bloodshot(I got mine for 50pp).
Don't worry, we are working on getting some nice Z and P's in the club:).

Ya, but It's going to be a very long time until I frag it. I really want it to grow into a nice mini colony before I frag it. But its gone from 2 to 4p in a few weeks:)

K3 it really goes for corals. We bought a band saw a year or so ago. We actually have $1040 in the club raffle fund. It's really gotten some momentum in the last year plus. If we keep up the pace and members remember to give back to the raffle we'll have all kinds of really nice corals for everyone.

We also leverage the popularity of the club and work with LFS to get a break on the cost of corals while bringing business to the LFS. In the end it benefits everyone.

So I like to add to what Bob said "pay it forward and receive 10 fold" but the best part is hanging out with a great group of people in our club which is priceless.

Wisdom from a Past President and I'm going to say the longest standing member of North Coast Reefers/Wine Country Reefers.

That's right the club used to be "North Coast Reefers" In our infinite wisdom we asked the question who lives on the North Coast? Nada!

That's a great concept to have and one I will definitely follow.. I have some plans for some future nice colony purchases that i will be glad to donate.

I plan on treating myself to one nice colony of sps every few months so it would be in my best interest to distribute some of it regardless.. What better place than this great group of guys =). It's a little ways off but it's going to happen sooner than later as my equipment list is nearing it's end and I have to spend money on something ha ha.. My sps list is not too great yet with the exception of small nice sps frags and colony's of common beginner sps.. But that will change and I will Def do my part to pay it forward with some of my addictions to come.

I will be bringing some 24k zoas to the raffle as that's really the only semi cool zoa I have enough of to make a frag lol other than common greens and eagles.

Seeing that the club has a good amount of money and people seem to like sps if not to many people have these maybe the club would like to order this frag pack for $675.

I'm pretty sure the club has 60% of them. Pink Lemonade, Red Dragon , ice echinata, tricolor had been in the raffle.

For Sure I've put quite a few Pink Lemonades in the raffle lately and will do so for this upcoming raffle.
