Corraline algae Prob...

Giving you a bump, Commander, I just don't know. I betcha you can ask in the Salifert forum. (We still have it, right?).

I didn't even know they made ca and alk supplements, lol. I would think it would be comparable to most other liquid products, maybe you can calculate them, average out the results and dose on the conservative side of the number you arrive at, dividing the dose and testing.

Personally, I still say go with the calcium chloride. It is much cheaper in the long run, and can be measured very accurately. If you can find a diy source of the chloride in your area you will only pay a few cents to every dollar you would spend on prepackaged supplements.

I just blew through this briefly but are you adding Strontium and Molybdenum? I use the Kent products Iodine, Calcium and the Strontium and Molybdenum and have no problem growing coriline. Also what i've noticed is when my dkh drops the coriline gets pail. For this I use Kent superbuffer to bring it around 13.

Sorry but I don't know what is calcium chloride or from where can I buy it.

And the only additive I am using right now is only KALK that I drip 24/7. I wish that my rocks will be covered with coralline algae and that's why I opened this thread.

What do you suggest to do to see my rocks full of nice purple algae?
