Correct me if I'm wrong...

I am pretty certain I already know the answer, as I have had Juvi Imperators before; but is this a Juvi Koran Angel? I paid roughly $30 more for the wrong fish... :headwalls:

On top of sending the wrong fish, it was sent in bad condition. The angel has ragged torn fins and tail, and its eyes are completely clouded. After I acclimated and gave it a Prazi bath, I figured I would give it a fresh water dip as there appeared to be actual flukes on its eyes. And out course several fluke came off of it in the freshwater bath. I have it in a mature QT tank right now dosed with Maracyn II. I am beyond unhappy right now.

Sorry to say you correct. I'd be sending him back or at least getting my money back. Emperors have completed circles in the back.

Yeah, I knew it definitely wasn't an Emperor; I just wasn't certain it was a juvi Koran or some other juvi angel. The funny thing is the vendor actually sent two incorrect juvi angels. They also sent an Indo Regal instead of a Bali Regal, which doesn't matter all that much to me though. On top of that, these angels were purchased on a credit I received after the original Blueline Angel I ordered lasted roughly 3 days before dying. Yeah, I know, that should have been a red flag; but I had a $170 credit.

I didn't intentionally mention which vendor as I didnt want the thread moved to the Vendor Experience forum. If you want to know PM me. I will say they are based here on the east coast.

Vendors that only give "credits" rather than refunds really irk me. Vendors that send the wrong fish without giving a complete refund should not be in the business. Sorry, just my opinion.

I agree with Steve. Also, there is no excuse for a fish with obvious flukes. It's so easy to treat for, or even just do a FW dip, to at least remove obvious ones...

The vendor I dealt with is really hit or miss when it comes to their fish. The biggest draw to them are their prices on hard to acquire fish. I have had issues with them in the past, as well as several other people on this board. I have also had success with some of the fish I purchased from them. If you are someone that doesn't practice QT procedures, I would steer clear and stick with Diver Den Fish. The fish that did survive went through a rigorous Qt that was a lot of work and was time consuming. I have opted to just take the hit on this one as I do not intend on ordering from them again and do not want to deal with more store credit. I am still opting if I should put a thread in vendor experiences. I have nothing personal towards the vendor. I think most that have read the thread are already aware of this NY vendor ;)

BTW, since the FW dip and the inclusion of Marycyn 2 and Prazi bath, the juvi Koran has started to eat and is active. Its eyes are still a little cloudy, but I think it will pull through with some good old TLC.

Ich and flukes are probably the easiest diseases to treat in this hobby but it's not something I look forward to having to treat for especially I started only using hypo for ich which takes 10 weeks. I rather enjoy the new additions in the DT during that time but unfortunately regardess of vendor we must safeguard the existing fish and QT accordingly.

I share your feeling when it comes to cutting losses early otherwise the shipping charge will add up. As much as I want that hard to come by maze angel I just don't want to chance of getting stuck with $700 of store credit. I check their web often to see what's in the pipeline as they appear to have early dip on those hard to find fishes.

When I see flukes I fw dip for 1-1.5 minute every other day for the first week most of the flukes will come off and give the fish a big relieve and time to recover from shipping stress before hitting it with prazi.
