Cosmo's 75G Build Thread

Alright, skimmer is pulling some more stuff.

Yesterday, Diatom bloom began.

I have some Chaeto in the fuge. Going to order my CUC soon.

When I clean the skimmer cup, there is thick stuff on the inside of the tube, but only brownish water in the "overflow" cup. Is that normal? Or do I need to adjust some more? Bubbles higher/lower?

thanks eyes

Don, the base rock was ordered from BulkReefSupply.com 25 lbs of shelf, 25lb of spaghetti rock. Let me know if you have any problems finding it.

I am already getting coralline on the shelves (although, I thought it is way too early for that....).

imcosmokramer - Thanks for the info. I placed an order yesterday with them for 30# of spaghetti rock and 25# of the shelf rock. Scheduled for delivery tomorrow...:)

BulkReefSupply is awesome.

I got my shelf rock from them as well.

Is your 90 gal AGA RR tank customized or just the standard dimensions? What are the dimensions?

Thanks, I love you tank, but I think I'm going to try to get something a bit deeper! But you have me inspired, thanks for the pics and advice as you have built yours.

I'll keep you posted when I get going!

looking real good....

For those that are wondering. The standard 90g and 75g have the same foot print. The 90 gallon is just 4" taller. which would make it 48x18x24 and not the 48x18x20 like the 75 gallon

Do you know if AGA/Oceanic does custom sizes?
My guess is not...

So to get a deeper tank, I'd have to step up to the 120gal, to get the depth I'm looking for?

no... a 90g has the same 24" depth. The 120 is 48x24x24

it is wider then a 90, but the hieght is the same

Ok, so I'm reading the numbers wrong when I see:

48(wide)x18(tall)x24(deep) is how you read it?

I was reading it...

48(wide)x18(deep)x24(tall)...so I'm reading it wrong?

I was thinking it was the same height (tall) and different depth?
Deep is from front to back...right?
Not deep from top to bottom...?

I've always read the dimensions as Width x Depth x Height

lenght x width x height

it depends what you mean when you say u want a deeper tank. i refer to a deeper tank as a taller tank.

Ok, no I mean wider tank...my bad.

I want a tank 48 - 60 length...and at least 24 wide...

So this the 90 gallon is 48 length, 24 wide, and 18 height?
Where the 120 is same, but 24 height (tall)?

if you want the wider tank then go with a 120

90 = 48 (length) x 18 (width) x 24 (height)

120 = 48 (length) x 24 (width) x 24 (height)

hope this explains it better

Ok thats what I originally thought, the 120 was wider! I just confused us both by saying deeper! hahaha sorry.
Thanks now I'm clear. I want the wider tank!

So whats a AGA/Oceanic tank that size cost? I guess I like the Tech series...wonder what those are running?

I have a problem, when I happen to go to petco to buy food for my boxer, i can't help but go by the fish section.....then I happen to see a healthy fish, which I am sure they will shortly kill, I end up doing some research and then buying it. This prompted a recent purchase of a tang and 4 chromis.

So I enlarged my QT from a 10 gl to a 20 long.
