Cosmo's 75G Build Thread

well, sad day today. I added a mystery wrasse yesterday.

I was being chased all day by my six-line. This morning, the six-line was still chasing him. I wend downstairs for five minutes and came back up to find my six-line on the floor. He's been in the tank since the start really. I guess the Mystery had enough.

RIP

right now, I have a yellow tang, 3 chromis, flame angel, fridmani, mystery wrasse, two clowns. I also have a tiger tail cucumber.

Marc, I didn't think it would end that way either. I'm happy that it wasn't the mystery, but sucks to lose anything..

here is the mystery wrasse:

here are a couple of new photos of the tank:

Those last 2 pictures are awesome.

I forget how long Marc said he had to wait for his fish to go into hiding before he took the top reflection shot though.

Thanks,

I was sitting there going "STOP TOUCHING THE WATER!!! THERE IS NO FOOD IN THERE"

Only took a few minutes and then I snapped away.

Day 2 of the mystery wrasse is going well. He is happy and swimming around.

Usually 15 minutes is long enough for them to drop down into the rockwork.

yeah, it didn't take that long. Those were the pictures I was taking when I noticed the six-line next to my foot. good times.

:sad2: thats never a fun experience.

I added a new tri-color to the tank. The one I have on the left side of the tank is blue and yellow. This one is a very deep purple. Now the waiting begins.

I'm thinking of setting up a calcium reactor so that I don't need to dose two part anymore. But I keep going back and forth. I already have it, so maybe I should just try it for a while. I guess I'll want a better controller (than the RK2) before I install it. I want either a ACIII or an Apex.

I have a new Euro-reef CS 135. The problem is that the water in my current sump is 13" deep and the skimmer needs to be run in 7.5" of water. I can build a stand for it in my sump, but I can only raise it about 3-4" so that I have room for it under my tank. The skimmer is 24" and I only have 28" under my stand.

So, with the help of some friends, I'm going to build another "stand" that will be place on a wall perpendicular to where the tank is now.

This will allow me to have a larger sump, add a CaRX in sump, as well as my gfo and carbon reactors will be in the sump instead of hanging over the edge. This will reduce the chances of a leak.

I will also be able to hide my ballasts and the rest of the cables/cords.

I will then move my ATO and place it under the tank where the old sump was.

This is a big move and will take some planning before I can move on.
