Could ANY new clown survive in tank w Maroon/Gold Bar?

In my 150g tall lives The Murderer, a 3"/3"+ Maroon/Gold Bar.

She (probably she, from what I've read on R/C) forced her intended mate out of their LTA and ripped him 2 pieces 3yrs ago. Then LTA died (shock? was re-homed & still didn't recover).

For 3yrs she's been thriving, she's extremely aggressive, charges at glass when you approach tank, attacks any hand in water, tried vigorously to destroy new (temporary) temp probe in tank just yesterday.

She's getting an enormous RBTA in a few days.

Assuming she bonds w RBTA (everything I've read & heard is encouraging) would there be ANY POSSIBILITY that I could introduce another clown (maroon/gold bar or other type) and expect new clown to survive??

I'm not sure I want to add ANY other fish to my tank. See tank specs/current fish pop in signature. I haven't added a fish in 3yrs, I really just want to build rock vertically & add more corals.

SHOULD I get her a "˜partner/mate'? Does she *need* one?

You can try to get her a mate. Get her a small on and protect him in cages that he can get though but she cannot. After a few weeks, she will gradually accept him. Even after they paired, sometime she can treat him pretty badly, but normally will not kill him (but this does happen)

Thanks! I may try just that. I'm pretty leery, though: my fish pop has been very stable for several yrs now, and I *hate* putting a fish in my tank just to watch it die.

I think my real question is does she need a mate. Will adding another clown ultimately benefit The Murderer? I just want everything balanced, happy, & healthy.

She will fine without a mate but it would be more interesting for you to provide a mate for her. Then you can do triple XXX movie of them.
