Could this work as a stand?

Hello reefers! Curious to hear your input on whether this piece of furniture could work as a stand for a 20g glass tank that is 30" length-wise (photo attached).

Details about the stand here: https://www.westelm.com/products/mid-century-dining-storage-acorn-h860/

I guess I'm a little worried about the slanted legs, but at least it is made with real wood rather than particle board?

I'm trying to find something that looks like furniture rather than a tank stand and fits with the rest of my home (which is proving to be hard). Any input appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Is this available to look at in person? If so, go sit on it where you want to put the tank.

I have a similar stand but Ikea priced and have my daughters 20g on it without any issues.

But what happens if I break the display when I sit on it??? LOL.

8.34 lb per gallon

Yeah, problem I'm having is West Elm doesn't know what the max capacity is of that cabinet. They said they'd ask the actual mfr. but didn't make any promises on whether they would find out. I figure the 20g will be around 225 with rock, sand and equipment. Not too bad.

wow 699...
There's a 30% discount code... I know, still pricey after shipping + tax.

But it would fit with the rest of my furniture so if I got rid of the tank I'd still have a slightly water-damaged, salty cabinet that would work in my living space.

I'm going to say it can easily support you and your filled up tank... Ok maybe not you anymore because you got married and now all these years went by ...

Lol. Fair assumption.

FYI, I stopped by the store to check it out. Even sat on it. Super solid (more than I expected). I think I'm going to give it a try.

Thanks again, everyone!

Why 20 Gallons? Why not restart the 40 and get AA to build a v2

Haha. Yeah, I thought about a reboot of my old tank, and I did make an effort to go down that route (but with starphire glass) with getting quotes, etc., but I just couldn't gain any traction. I went crazy trying to plan everything and getting all the details right that I had decision paralysis.

So I'm just gonna start this up quick and easy, and it's basically for my son because he's been asking me about Nemo fish for like the past 6 months and I haven't delivered yet. Basically I gave up. LOL.
