court jester goby

I recently bought a court jester goby, how much of their diet consists of the organisms in the live sand? They seem to not like frozen food but sift the sand all day

They're very fragile, and I would hesitate to get one except for a mature and stable tank with a lot of ecology going on. They apparently nosh on micro-algae and allegedly hair algae, but I am not sure about the latter. Anyone hoping it will eat their hair algae and solve that problem, no. It's too small, too fragile, and its consumption is microscopic.
