Cover for pump

Tim,

is there a cover available for the pump? I think I am going to order one and see what I think. My wife has been doing her own reading as well, and she believes this pump will do what we want without having to tear the tank down and drill holes...yada yada yada...

We have some baby Onyx clowns (3 mnths) that like to wonder the tank and hang out near the Koralia's we have right now. (Big eyesore)
Anyway, we would need a cover if available or recommendations on how to protect them from the pump and/or other inhabitants such as Anemones. Gutter Guard perhaps?

Any delay right now in getting the pump and driver? I want to pull the trigger sooner than later.

Thanks

The MP40w comes with a foam cover for the intake. The output is not covered.

Most stores have MP40w's in stock. No delay. WWD's are now in stock at most stores too.

Thanks Tim,

so I am on the same page and not off my rocker again, the kit that Premium sells includes the WWD with the pump for the $420? That will also include the foam cover? Is it true that this WWD can control up to 10 pumps without additional drivers? Just want to be clear on what I am getting as I totally messed that up last time. ;)

The MP40w models retail for $420/each and include the foam cover.

The WWD can only communicate with other MP40w pumps. It's actually possible for more than 10 pumps to be communicating with one another, but they all must be the MP40w model.

Let me know if you still have questions.

Sounds good.

Will the WWD have any issues with a Reefkeeper 2 controller?

I use it to control all of the tanks functions. I did not see any material on that specifically.

The pump should not be used with an aquarium controller if you are trying to generate waves. The RK2 is appropriate however if all you are using it for is to turn it off one or twice a day for feed modes, etc.

Gotcha. Only to use the feed mode option is all. I will use the WWD to set the different modes for the pump itself.

Thanks for your time. Look forward to trying it out. It's all Melevs fault that I am doing this without the trial from Fuppets. Watching his videos and seeing it in action helped.

So thanks to Marc also.

You're welcome.

(I was just reading this thread, enjoying the comments and saw your post. ;) )

All you need is a tiny speck of a Toadstool leather, and about 4 years to elapse. That one is a bit of meat I brought home from MACNA years ago, and it turned into that gorgeous coral that I refuse to get rid of.

I run carbon weekly so it won't affect my SPS collection.

It is a very nice piece Marc.

Do you run carbon in a mesh bag or with that carbon gizmo that is out? Has a mump on one end of a pvc pipe that is capped and drilled on the opposite side with the carbon in the middle.

I'm using a Phosban Reactor because of it's price and simplicity. It takes up 3" of space in my sump, and the water pours out over my Mag 7 to cool it. That pump is the circulation pump to my Calcium Reactor, which stands in my sump above the water level. I'll be dropping the reactor into the water now that winter is here to let it warm the water 'for free' - so to speak.

Here's an old picture:

You can't see the carbon-filled Phosban Reactor since it wasn't installed when I took that picture, but I have it hanging on the teeth of the refugium, pouring its water over the gray pump.

I run a phosban reactor with the PHOSar HC to help control phosphates since the sand was moved and re-used when I picked the tank up.

Is it feasible to use this same reactor and use both media's at the same time or not practical?

Thanks for the link...looks like another phosban reactor is in need then and a better quality carbon....
