CPR Overflow Reliability

How reliable are the CPR overflows on restarting following a power outage or pump restart? What's the best way to ensure that the overflow restarts every time?

With a CPR it isn't if it will fail but when will it fail. It is a flawed design that relies on an accessory to keep it from losing prime. Go with a U Tube design like a Lifereef, it won't fail.

I like my eshopps overflow on my 150. Had around 10 electrical outages so far. No problems, it always restarts without any special equipment. Biggest factor shouldn't be overflow if you choose a good one like the eshopps. it should be head room in your sump in case the electric goes out so it doesn't overflow

I used a couple of CRP overflows with Aqualifter pumps for 6 years on my old system. I never had any issues and we have a lot of short power failures here (SW Florida thunder storms).

They generally use Tom's lifter pumps to purge air from the box.
That is the weak point, they don't last & if you don't catch the failure there you will have
another to worry about.
