As I'm actually putting some work into this upgrade I figured I should start a build thread on it. But first, some background
I started my first reef tank back in college in 200 ish. I quickly went from a 28 -> 55 -> 72 -> 120 over the course of a year. After graduating I took the tank down and went on a break.
Of course I got sucked back in. Just saw one picture of a reef to many, you know how it is. I quickly bought an elos mini in late July 2014. I decided this time around I'd go with quality and stay the hell away from acrylic (sorry I can't stand scratching things) as I'm in an apartment a mini seemed like a good idea. Nope too small, 2 weeks later I upgraded to an elos 70.
I've had the 70 up and running for a good few months now and came across a 105g AGE tank. It's 40 wide. 28 deep and 22 tall. Rimless with an external overflow. Near as big as I can go in the apartment and awesome dimensions / features.
So now the pictures. I neglected to get a good picture before starting my work but here it is after the glass was scraped and doors removed
[/URL]
So far I have removed all the previous little items, velcro small screws zip ties etc. Painted the outside black, inside ocd white, re done the plumbing and cleaned the glass
Here it is with tank on top

It is filling with water now, planning on doing the bulk of the transfer tomorrow using a lot of my existing water and all the rock.
More updates to come!
