Crab ID Please

Hi,

I am another happy Tampa Bay Saltwater customer who was looking for a crab ID. Found this guy in the sand. I know the pictures are not great let me know if another is needed. Also, More images of tank to follow.

Looks like it might be a red mithrax crab to me. Claw tips look kinda blunt, and don't have black tips like I would expect from a gorilla crab.

Still, I might put him in the sump or otherwise isolate him until Richard can provide a definite ID for you.

VERY NICE job on the aquascaping! How long did it take you to get all those rocks in just the right spot?

From the pics it just looks like your standard, run-of-the-mill gorilla to me. Give him his own little tank and see how big you can get him. The best I got was about 4" across before he finally died. You wouldn't catch me holding him in my hand though!

Ok Thanks for the advice guys. Yeah I re-stacked the rocks over and over until i got them how I wanted them. Took me an hour or so but well worth it.
