crabs and snails???

For glass/rock, turbo snails are my favorite. Had some Astrea snails, but for whatever reason they didn't eat a whole lot of it or last very long, for that matter.

Regardless, I don't really count on my CUC to keep the glass clean. They usually just leave trails, which is just as bad as the algae patches themselves. Better to use a mag float for the light stuff and whip out the metal scraper (or plastic scraper for acrylic) on the thicker colonies.

For the sand, nassarius snails do a good job of turning over the sand bed, but I don't think they go after algae. Probably better to have an emerald crab and/or "fighting" conch for that.
