Hi All,

Well the CRASE is coming around again, and this year we are moving on to bigger and better things.

First, we have a new Venue. This year the CRASE will be held at the COX convention center, downtown Oklahoma City. This venue allows us a great deal more space, easier and closer parking as well as better facilities for the vendors. Also, being downtown, it also lets our out of town visitors enjoy Bricktown.

The Speakers are already lined up and this year we have a great line up. Coming from New York, Christine Williams will be talking about the perils of marine aquaria. Christine is extremely knowledgable about the toxins encountered in marine animals and gives an excellent talk on when your tank bites back.

From San Francisco Richard Ross will be talking about Cephalopods in captive systems. If you have ever wondered about cuttlefish, or octopus, then this is a not to be missed talk. Richard is a curator at the Steinghart aquaria and is world famous for his captive breeding of both marine cephs as well as fish.

Finally, and no stranger to the CRASE, Jake Adams will be returning all the way from Colorado. Jake will be presenting anoverview of current lighting technologies for aquaria. His talk will mostly focus on LEDs, where we are in the hobby, and how to efectively use LEDs over our system. Jake is a great speaker and is extremely knowledgable on this topic.

The vendors are Signing up and this year should see more than ever including
Reef Nutrition,
Reefkoi,
IceCap,
ReefBrite,
VillageFrags
Wet Thumbs Frags,
Marco Rocks,
Aquarium Oddballs,
Zoanuts,
Aquarium Concepts,
Fish 2morrow,

And many more local vendors.

As we start to accumulate raffle prizes I will also post them to this thread.

Hope to se you all there,

paul.

Ticket Price is $15, at the door or in advance.

We are very proud of this upgrade this year! The way this conference is growing is a tribute to the hobbyists in Oklahoma and the region.

We work hard and I'm excited to see the increase in our national vendors and our continued dedication from our local stores and hobbyists.

Also added to our vendor list:

Dirk's Reef Dry goods and supplies
Seachem
Blue Zoo

As always, each vendor will be providing item(s) for the prize draw, so you know this year will have some great stuff

If you are interested in having a table at CRASE, please send me a PM.

This year is going to be fantastic and my excitement is growing with item I check off my 'to do' list.

Nice list of vendors going,

Would like to have visited Wet thumbs when they were in Dallas.

Will be great to see what they bring !!!!

I was sending this to some friends on Facebook and it automatically linked it. Awesome!

The new site should be up very soon.

Doors will open at 9:30 and will go pretty much as they have in the past. We will have an extended lunch break b/c we're in Bricktown and will not be catering the event.

As it stands right now, the first speaker will be Christine Williams, then Rich Ross- Lunch then Jake Adams, finishing the day with the raffle.

The actual schedule will be posted soon.

Paul.

I see Blue Zoo Aquatics is going to be there. Does that mean we can order something and they will bring it? In other words, we don't have to pay shipping?

Hi All,

Well tickets are being purchased and the show is really shaping up.

I just wanted to share with you the location of CRASE inside the COX convention center.

We will be on the ground floor at the Sheridan street side, directly opposite the Renaissance hotel.

Here is a map:

People purchasing on the day will be allowed into the show at 9.30AM when the doors officially open.

Hi all,

Well time for an update.

We have a speaker change,
Jake Adams will not be coming to speak, in his place I am very pleased to announce that we have Sanjay Joshi.

Dr. Sanjay Joshi is probably the worlds leading authority on lighting systems for tanks. Some of you may remember him from CRASE 2 where he gave an excellent discussion on lighting sytems for aquaria.

I am extremely pleased that he will be able to rejoin us for CRASE 4.

LED Basics and Comparison with other Lighting Technologies

LED lighting has the potential to be the "next big thing" in the aquarium hobby. This talk will present the basics of LED lighting with a focus on aspects that can assist in understanding LED and in evaluating LED lighting fixtures for aquarium use. Data on the spread and intensity of a few commercially available LED fixtures will be presented and compared to other aquarium lighting options.

Post cards for CRASE have been sent out. If you don't get one and would like to in the future, pm me your name and address.

If you have already purchased tickets, I may have pulled you from the list for this year.
