So I did a successful system update to 4.40
Created a Fusion account
My Dashboard showed Fusion Communication Error when I was looking for a 'Link to Fusion' button.
I clicked on "enable fusion" in Network Settings on my Apex page and then clicked the "reboot after update box"
The system hung up and never loaded, so I unplugged power to the base module.
Now the base module blinks yellow and the EB8 blinks green.

What do I do?

Try updating the firmware again. You may be stuck in boot loader mode though and may need to contact support. When you updated your firmware, did you also update the www files? Per the firmware update instructions, that is an important 2nd step to the firmware update process.

I was able to reupdate firmware. Although it said "operation complete" and not "upgrade successful" like last time.

Base is now solid green but the display is blank and I'm unable to update web pages. It says "unable to connect to remote server"

Which IP address should it have? When i click the magnify glass, it does not find any. I know the IP was 192.168.1.6 when hardwired to router. The aquacontroller IP in net setup normally is 192.168.1.111

I assume you are currently hardwired to the router? You can try log in via either of those two IP addresses and see if you can connect. You can also try to log into the Apex by typing:
http://apex in the browser.

If you still can't connect to your Apex, cycle power on it by removing the Aquabus cable that connects the Apex to your EB8. Then plug it back in. Then use the updater to locate the Apex via the magnifier or try again by typing the IP address or http://apex

If you get in, go to the module setup page under configuration in the native apex web interface and scroll down to look at the module list. Take a look at the display module in the list. Make sure it says "OK" in the firmware field. If it says "OLD" scroll up and select the display module from the list. Then select "update module" and click "submit module changes" and see if that fixes the display issue. If it doesn't, disconnect the display from the Apex controller, select the display module from the list and delete it. If there are 2 modules, delete them both. Then plug the display back in. That should fix the issue.

If you still can't connect to the Apex, try a different browser and repeat the above steps if needed.

Thanks for all your help. I contacted technical support, and they ghosted into my computer and did everything you said above. It's a hardware issue inside of the base unit, and I have to mail it back in for repair.
I honestly hate this controller. I was one of the first to purchase it into 2009 and if I didn't have so much time and money invested into it, I would officespace printer smash it in my driveway. This is the second base unit to brick on me when doing an update. It was the reason why I was still running such an old version, because I was afraid of it happening again. Shame on me for trying again because it can't handle updates. I'm very computer savvy and followed the directions to a T, it's not user error. Now my 450 system is running with no control.

I have to give it to them though....their technical support is amazing. Victor just spent 1.5 hours on the phone with me getting my old base unit, with a messed up PH port, configured to hold me over in the meantime.
