Critter ID

Just noticed this little guy. Just wondering if anybody could ID it. It's about the size of a pencil eraser. Best pic I could get....

I definitely don't think it's majanos. I am very convinced with the ball anemone ID. Regardless I will keep an eye on it. Thanks all !!!!

I had a few of these in the back corner of my tank until I figured out they eat fish! mine were a little bigger than yours but they swallowed fairy wrasses, sifter gobies, and any other smaller fish trying to hide behind the rocks. I used to try to bury them with rubble and rip them up with a coathanger but no luck. I had to take a 3rd of my tank down to remove them! They were pink tipped, pretty nice looking pest. I gave them to Hector. they are actually a shroom(Pseudocorynactis) and can move. Some large ones go for good $. Tidal gardens in copley had some.

I have a few in my tank, they don't get much bigger than about 1/2" dia. They have caused no problems with anything in my tank. They don't seem to spread much either.

I had a different species then. Mine were 3"+dia. and had pink tips.

Just thought I would offer another suggestion as to the identity of this critter... I researched those little fellas when the appeared in my tank. Do a little studying, do they seem to shrink or shrivel when the lights come on? If so it is a type of Corallimorph mushroom that does not like light infact they will be irradicated by intense metal halides.... I bet if you look closely into crevices in your rock work when the lights first come on you will see several of these little guys and maybe some that are not so little but once the lights have been on awhile they will be much more difficult to spot. it is a carribean native from the info i gathered and completely harmless!

Mine do seem to expand more at night & receed during the day. They are in low light areas of my tank.

Do you have any Ricordea Yumas in the tank? It looks like a baby Yuma... I have a ton of them in my tank from my Yumas that keep dropping babies. They look like that then grow out a little flatter...

No yumas. I am convinced it's a ball anemone. There are 2 different species. One (Caribbean) that gets big and the other (Pacific) stays small. Mine also only comes out at night.
