crocea or maxima .. id needed

I think is a crocea, maximas have severa scutes coming out of the shell. This little one looks like my 4" crocea :) I can be wrong. You can see a picture of my little maxima in my gallery, very different shell type.

Yes, T. maxima, however it's not looking too good. What are your tank specs? How long have you had the clam? Most likely you ended up with an unhealthy maxima to begin with, so it may not necessarily be your tank conditions.

Looks like a small max.
I'm taking a guess, that you were moving it around for taking the pictures and that's why it look so un happy.
Otherwise,if ya didnt move it ,looking at the first pic, it does not look good.

Thanks for the ID. I just recieved it from etropicals as an ORA Ultra grade aquacultred maxima. Would you feel ripped off if you got this?

I would be concerned about its health. How did you acclimate it? Do they have any kind of garuntee? Have you told them about its condition? I would send them the pics of it asap.

I acclimated it to their instructions. I did call them and did send them pics. I bought two and one was DOA. Im not very impressed with the etropicals so far.

Ball, keep up the goodwork with your system. Nice website, seems like your having fun with the hobby.

I already said that.

the shell looked more crocea like, but the mantel was maxma for sure...sorry to hear about the DOA from Etropicals....I have had great luck with them on ultra max orders a few times, but then agen I live in the south and it dosent get as cold down here ....Since its in quality water now.....feed it some live phyto with the bowl method that may help...
