CTARS Community Pico Reef Thread 1-8 gallons

I'm joining the ranks of the Nano/Pico tanks!

Just got my Innovative Marine 4 gallon going, very nice little tank that I highly recommend (just have to upgrade the stock lighting). I'll try to post some pics later, but at this point it is just water, sand and rock.

Equipment:

IM 4 gallon Pico
Cobalt Aquatics Neo-Therm 25 Watt Aquarium Heater (awesome heater)

I'm still trying to figure out what to use for lighting. I have a Kessil 150W that I could use, just worried that it will either be too much or I will have to have it so high the spill of light will be too much. But I'm probably going to give it a go and see what happens.

Livestock:

Nothing yet except a couple of hermits (scarlet and blue legged).
Planning on 1-2 gobies, probably a Yasha and shrimp and then some other type that will swim around a little more.
Coralwise...guess I will see what catches my eye.

Nice man , get some pics up , i tthought about going with that tank until marine depot had a sale on Mr. Aqua Tanks.

The Mr. Aqua tanks are very nice (I have one of the small bowfronts), but I wanted a tank with a built in filter system so I decided to try the IM tank. So far so good.

Ok got my light and it seems to be pretty good. I have to build a canopy to go with my stand and I want to use acrylic rods to hold up the canopy. I think (4) 12" 1/4" rods would be perfect if anyone has these or know s where I can get them Let me know please thanks.

I hung the Kessil 150 over the tank to give it a try. Here are a couple of pics. I didn't really do any aquascaping as I will wait until I add corals and see what space I will need.

I kept everything stock except the light...maybe eventually I will upgrade but for now I'll keep it as is.

Seems that after about a month my nem has found a home. He has been restless every day in a new spot but has been here now for about a week. Hoping that he stays put. I will say however that he has been on top of or next to every coral in the tank with no apparent damage.
