Cubed & Squared

I've read some success stories with the cosmetus and aefw bello:)
Did try him but never ate even a single aefw,in my previous tank:(
But then again every fish is different with it's own behaviour/personality

To be honest....i hope he only eats food(flakes etc) in your case because i hope even more that you have already eradicated every single one of them(that is a much better scenario)

Yeah, dunno if he's doing any good and hopefully, there's no AEFW for him to actually eat :p. He's bloody aggressive though. The Halichoeres genus has quickly become my favourite wrasse genus btw, not as jumpy as fairies/flashers and not as mental as my sixline :p

Anyways, I thought my scape had way too much clutter. It ended up that way because I kept placing all the coral I had. So a couple days ago, I returned 3 mari colonies that I was holding for a friend, and set about clearing my mess.

Here's the result, hope you enjoy :)

And from the left hand side, this is my favourite view :)

And since I had the Cam in my hand....

Bello are you still running a Zeovit system complete with Zeolites etc? -Sorry, I couldnt bear to go through 20 pages to check this vital info out.

Also, how much liverock do you have in the system? Or is it just the rocks seen in the displays? How many lbs in the display?

Sheesh Sahin, now you're just being lazy  :p

I was running the full zeo system, with zeolites etc. Tank was cycled with the zeo cycle. I stopped after about 4 months, for simplicity sake :)

Most of the rock is as you see in the display. I dunno how many pounds, but they're pretty dense rock. Have a little, say about one island's worth in the deep tank, placed in the sump. I'm also running about 10 litres of Siporax in the fuge, though I'm not sure how much that's helping. Also, have converted my frag tank into a fuge of chaeto, btw :)

The 10litres of Siporax was what I was looking for. Otherwise I would have said you dont have enough filtration mate.

And yes, Siporax works. I've used it in the past with both fresh and salt water.

I put a frag of Forest Fire digitata in my little 20 gallon tank. Up high on the rocks, no skimmer, a ball of chaeto hiding behind some rocks, and some Purigen in a small HOB filter.

I am supposed to do water changes every week but I think I'm averaging 10% every 3 weeks.

A good bright green is starting to show up on the base. :hmm6:

Unfortunately I don't bother to test nitrates or phosphates but I assume both are elevated.

My ForestFire Digitata lost all the green once it went into my tank. Just recently, it started to get the green back. The orange polyps are amazingly bright orange.

Thanks for the update on the FF . I have 2 frags, one at the bottom and one placed at the topmost area. Both look identical as of now. Growth is great, yet the green base eludes me.

I'm certain my NO3 & PO4 are elevated as well. Have tons of diatoms all over the sandbed. Cleaning the glass everyday right now.

Are you feeding that tank heavily, Mark? Much of a bioload?

Yeah, I have 3 types of orange digi, and under actinics, the pop from the FF is far better, just no green base. You think its coming back because you're feeding more nowadays?

And some pics.......... because why not :p

Wow...things seem to be coloring back bello:dance:
That is a good sign regarding...no...i won't say their name buddy:uzi:

I only have 4 tiny fish in there. The tank was setup to rescue a shy purple firefish I've had for over a year and was getting bullied in one of my larger tanks. I added a yellow clown goby, a tailspot blenny, and a pygmy wrasse.

I do feed heavy, but mostly with small flakes and Reef Roids for the corals.

The PAR meter I usually borrow was broken by some ... person ... who dunked the display in their tank, otherwise I'd have PAR measurements as well.

Those are only the good pieces, Mike. Quite a few of the others look like crap. Seems like the tank was happier when I wasn't around . Not a good sign , bloody insulting to be honest :furious:

Your quote reminded of "The Village". "Those we do not speak of!!!"

Ooohh that's gotta hurt, but on the bright side, you did have the opportunity to use it for a bit :). Hmm, I could break out the PAR meter tomorrow and take some measurements

Beginning to think that's got more to do with nutrition than light levels. I do know, that the FF hated my ULNS with very high light.

Do you have 3 tanks running now? Obssessed!!! :p. I have 3 as well

Where did you remembered that buddy:lolspin:
Offtopic...i liked the movie:)

Don't be so rigorous bello, things will look much better soon.
You have allready taken the first steps:thumbsup:

I remembered the line from,

Hahahaha, yeah I quite liked that movie as well :). Not some of his other ones though

Anyway, while I was away on holiday, my friend re-tuned my skimmer, since a snail got stuck in the impeller. I didn't dial it in correctly, so nutrients rose a bit. Still plenty of work left, but here's an example of what needs to improve

Bello those green polyps signify improvement. It wont take too long now...you will get great colour soon. :)

Thanks for the props, guys :). Nice to know I'm somewhere along the right path :).

I just picked up a rather bleached looking mari piece today, hopefully it'll pull through :)

Looks like you have one more along for the ride:D. What size is your tank bello? It's looking good. I might not be very helpful but I'm coming along for the ride:p so drive bello broom broom.

You're welcome to join the ride, Fishy . They're 2 x 100G cube tanks (36x36x18 each) sharing a common sump :)

Anyways, I just posted these on the SPS ID forum, hoping for species ID's.....

Looking very nice and sneaky as usual Bello.

Those are some nice pieces. Your coral colours are improving mate, so keep up the good work.

Any tips for my tank? I need to get the last remaining Acros coloured up. I know they have genetic potential, so they can colour up, but they refuse to. Any KZ products you can recommend?

I am dosing a couple of drops of Zeobac along with 2 other bacterial products and it seems to be helping.

Hahahahaha Sahin :), YOU're calling ME sneaky??? lol

I think your colors already look good , especially the red millie, which I'd find really hard to get right. I haven't been dosing anything different over the last 2 weeks since I got back from holiday. Been trying to reduce nutrients through cleaning up detritus, and skimming wetter. Feeding a bit lesser as well, just flakes and a cube of mysis daily. Trying to take it slow and observe :).

I drop in about 10 drops of ZeoBak, and 10 drops of BioMate once a week. I'd assume it's helping. Have seen a reduction in diatoms as well, with the increased skimming etc.
