Okay, i am setting up a 8 gallon cylinder nano/pico (i dont know where you draw the line) tank and have been struggling with what to stock it with...theni noticed a local reefer is a seahorse breeder and he has H. Zosterea (sp) frequently, says they need regular live feeding...
now i am super stoaked to set this little tank up as a dwarf SH tank, with 3-5 of the little guys in it...
i will be also growing coral in the tank, i was thinking deepwater acros and zoanthids, and since they wont mind the <74* i should be good for some ponies too...
tank is going to be lit with LED's so i wont have a heat issue there, open top too so evap will also be effective, a 7 gallon sump built into the stand for more volume, i will be using a skimmer too...
i guess i will see i i can fit a small UV light in there too...now the hard part...LIVE FOOD
he said he usually only feeds Rotifers...to keep Rots i need to make phyto too...so i need to see some ideas on how to set up a small culturing station to feed 3-5 ponies in this tank...i could also hatch baby brine shrimp too if the occasion arose that i needed too...i just want to keep this station as small and inconspicuous as possible and if at all possible hidden in the stand too, however the stand is only going to be 18" square and ~24" tall ( i want it coffee/end table high for viewing from the couch and top down...so not a lot of space in there once i put in the 12" cube for a sump...plus i want the sump up about 6-8" from the ground to make for easy emptying...so the actual cabinet space will only be an 18" cube less the sump volume...
so let me see you food stations and see if i cant make one into a miniature for my little tank and hopes...my daughters will absolutely love to have real "my little ponies"
thanks in advance for for the long post and hidden questions...
