Hi AK,

There were all types of corals in there. Next time I have some extra corals to get rid of, I think I am going start a poll. The community can vote on someone who deserves a frag pack.

I think the container in the background you are seeing is an old bucket of neo marine. I am actually in Finance. Some folks might think I am a chemist when I start talking about my tank additives though. :)

Happy Holidays,
James

Hi Hung - Great to hear from you. I'm excited to see how the corals are doing. How does the ORA Plum Crazy look these days?

I promise to get some good macros this weekend. I think its safe to say 99.9% of reefers are good folks. Most people are passionate and love to meet people in the hobby. Sometimes you come across a reefer so bad, it makes you rethink having people over to see the tank. I am becoming more open to having some reefers open though. Some folks just want to learn and see the SPS. I just have to be more careful now.

Hey Matt - I got home a little late tonight. I will get you and allmost some nice pics this weekend. I have two Oregon Torts. One I purchased originally as ORA Oregon Tort. It originally had some green hues to the base. Now it is a solid blue. I called ORA and they stated it can develop some green. I've been told it is ORA Oregon Tort and I've been told it isn't ORA Oregon Tort. The other Oregon Tort is from JimC. This is the True Oregon Tort. Both are very VERY nice. I also have some new corals in. I wanted to see what I could do with the coloration of some high end frags. I think you will be happy with those pics when they are happy.

HEY JAMES,....guess what time it is....The Weekend!!!:bounce1::bounce1::bounce1:---Rick

No pressure.....
What he said..:)

LOL. I didn't forget guys :) I spent some time cleaning the glass today, testing, and performing my weekend maintenance. I also had to spend some time shoveling (were getting hit with a winter storm). I am about to journey out to my buddies house to go see his 420g tank, but I promise I will have some pics for you all tomorrow morning.

Warmest Regards,
James

No worries, I forgive you... Here in Montreal, we are sitting around waiting for the other end of that storm to hit us.. Should be here in about an hour.. I think we'll end up getting between 8 and 12 inches...
Gonna have some shoveling to do tomorrow!!

Take some pics of his tank!

Hi Chris,

Hope all is well!

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to take any pics of Russ's tank (RussK08). I swing out there (Port Huron) once a month and can snap some pics next time I go. Its a stunning 420g acrylic tank he built himself. The craftsmanship of the tank is remarkable. A future TOTM for sure!

Warmest Regards,
James

Looks like you have some growth room between your corals now James. What happened to your German Blue. I liked its color and growth form---Rick

Hi Rick, I had to get rid of most of the German Blue digi. It was getting to large and was encroaching on neighboring acro territory. I'll be sure to have it in my next tank, but it got too large for my tiny tank. I do have some new corals that will be taking its place though. :)

Hey James

I don't see a few of my favorites Lol where the #0 and the pink panther? By the way that true Oregon Tort is insane and what ever you call that pink and blue milli are insane brother. You tank is looking total picture perfect. Looks like the reef gods have blessed you with some serious skills.
Keep up the amazing job
Michael

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the compliments. I'll have some more pics in the coming weeks. I usually take a bunch of pics, then delete until I am happy with the pics that are left. Quality over quantity I guess. I'll have some very nice pics soon. I went with some of the higher end SPS to see what I could do with the coloration. So far so good! :)

Happy Holidays,
James

Acros are looking just beautiful James but then i kinda expect that when i catch up on your journal mate :)

I'm especially jealous of your purple stag, i'd love to find a branch of that color one day as i only ever see heaps of wild blues and greens for sale. Btw i always notice how you go out of your way to de-saturate your pics and err on the side of drab lol - those of us who've seen a lot of acros know what they look like in real life mate but i think you could throw in the odd gratuitously saturated pic just to remind everyone else........;)
Did i read that you're going to transfer everything over to a more conventional rock scape with a new tank, if so how do you go about getting those beauties off the acrylic or would you break them up a bit and spread them around a bit. Sorry if i've confused you with another reefer :spin3:

Hi James,...what is the small blue coral next to the purple stag? And I'm looking forward to some pics of your new frags,...you know which ones I'm referring to ;) Thanks,---Rick

I could be wrong but that's true Oregon tort. I got a tiny tiny little piece of that left in my tank that I got from James.
