Hey Reefers,
Hope all is well!
I thought it was a good day to take some pics of the tank. I took two different types of pics. Raw images that use a grey card for white balance and full auto that have a touch too much blue for my tastes. There are a couple that I used the auto adjust on. Not really sure if I can tell the difference (not considering the actinic shots). The camera is a Canon Rebel T2i with a stock lense. The tank is a custom made 100g rimless lit by an ATI 8x80 Sunpower. The tank uses the full ZEO system. There is about a fist size piece of live rock and a couple of cups of sand. Other than that, this tank relies on ZEO for biological filtration. The Octopus XP 3000-int helps too. Anyways, hope you enjoy.
Warmest Regards,

James

Nice pieces.. Curious on if it's gonna be DT or a frag tank. Will the corals compete for space when they grow out? Or are same species placed next to each other so they can grow into each other without WWIII when they start to touch. Looks great nice PE.

Thanks for the kind comments! This is my display tank. I originally did have a black sand bed with some live rock, but had to remove due to another local reefer giving me black bugs. I ended up adding 7.5 tabs of interceptor over a four day period. With the death of all of my pods and crabs, I began to experience a continuous high phosphate level. It wasn't until I removed all of my live rock and sand, was I able to control my nutrient issues. I've always had the racks for easy placement of the corals. I like knowing that a clumsy snail will not knock over a frag into another.

Yes, these corals are going to be growing out as they are placed today. I may make some changes due to PAR leves in certain areas, but I would say it will be the same going forward. I will eventually need to do some bonsai style trimming, but I should be able to minimize touching (hopefully) as the corals grow out. I want to have the appearance of a floating SPS garden once the corals have matured.

Warmest Regards,
James

I like the tank and the corals, as far as the pics, the full auto do look a little to blue. The other pics look just a little yellow to me, I think your pics came out good anyway, I hope the feed back helps and your frags look great! Take care, Dennis

Thanks, Dennis! I'm really trying to get the right natural look with just a touch of blue. I want my corals to look like they do in the ocean, but also to have just a slight pop to show the natural colors. I never thought photography would be so challenging.

James

Hi Roger,

Hope all is well!

I am very happy with the progress using ZEO. I was looking at some pics from 4 months ago and feeding has had a major impact on my growth and coloration. White balance also helped :D
