cup coral id please

im getting a coral from my buddy .he is going to go with a predator fish only tank,,so he is giving me his big cup coral. its about 8"to 10" around it looks like a purple umbrella with yellow bumps.just tryingto figure out the species name and info sorry dont have a pic yet .i know its not much to go off of but any kind of suggestions can help..thanks
