Cup removal height DOC 9410

I'll have 22.5" of vertical space under my stand for a skimmer. The specs say the Tunze DOC Skimmer 9410 is 16.4" tall, but clearly it takes quite a few more inches to remove the cup. Anyone know that number? (The total height clearance to remove the cup)

I'd like to run 11" of water in the skimmer chamber and tune with a stand. Does it run good at 9" or should I be aiming lower?

I think I found the answer. 3.9" clearance needed. Please let me know if I'm incorrect.

Yes, in general if you leave about 4" to remove the cup you will be in good shape. The specs for depth are 5.5-9.5" howeve my practical experience is that 6-7" is the ideal, it is very hard to tune the skimmer at 8+" of water level so it produces a dark skimmate and this can be near impossible when the skimmer is first installed and only possible after the skimmer has had several months to remove organics and bring the level down.
