Curlique Anemone

I recently picked up a small curligue anemone today. It's seems to have attached to the rock i placed it on in my tank. I was wandering the good and bads of a curlique anemone.
And i know this may sound like a newbie question but will my maroon gold clown take to this type of anemone? He has a small cave in the large piece of base rock that i have, would he give up the cave for the anemone?

I have seen clowns go into all sorts of anemones and softies but I'll be surprised if he hosts in your new Curly-Q. Let us know if he does.

Some mislabel LTA as curly Q because of curly tents.

FWIW maroons pretty much launch into most nems.
But not all nems make good hosts.

I'm no curly expert(sure looks like aptasia) but either way I wouldn't expect anything to be hosted by that.

lol no it's not aptasia....Ok thanks...
The one reason why i got the curly is because they attach themselves to a rock, and won't move from that place ever. And i like that idea instead of having an anemone that moves around the tank, because i'm not 100% sure on what else i'd like to add to my tank.

Bartholomea annulata is the Latin name and Curlique the common name. They originate from the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. They are considered hardy and will benefit from good lighting. They will sting fish and other occupants. It's definitely not a likely candidate to host your maroon clownfish. They can get quite large, as in 8 to 10 inches across.

Although they are closely related to aiptasia, both glass anemones, they aren't the same species.

Years ago before the Reef Tanks were common I had a Curley Q anemone in a 24gal hex as the center piece. I had a pistol shrimp that accompanied it. The lighting was terrible but the Curley Q thrived never the less. It grew to at least 10 to 12 inches across. Watching it capture food like frozen brine shrimp was really cool. The 8 inch tentacles could contract quickly to the mouth. Good luck with the anemone.
