Current outer orbital

I bought a use Outer Orbit HOI/T5 48" inches from a member on here. It's seem like the two 250w is not bright, alot darker compare to other people tank, any one suggest that I should change out the ballast? My question is when the ballast go bad they just die or they slowy put out not enough light? my bulb are four weeks old 20k

20K's are dark blue/purple in color.

14K's would brighten it up, if you go to a 10K, they have a tendency to increase alga growth and decrease coralline growth.

i dont think its the ballast, just the bulbs colors. :smokin:

I agree. I have the same unit & it's very bright with the factory Current 10k's.

I do feel these units need to be placed 3"-6" above the water as the reflectors are not the best & quite small.
