Custom metal/aluminum stand fabricator needed

Can anyone point me to someone who can build me a custom stand out of metal/aluminum? IIRC there was someone in Sac, but I was hoping to find someone closer. Essentially I'm looking for a welded stand for a small-ish tank (only about 30 gallons).

Thanks in advance.

Are you looking for the just the frame?

Yes, just the frame. Something like this (the black part):

Call the guys at California reef. They might be able to get you in contact with John, the old owner. He does metal fabrication and has made stands.

Custom Metal Manufacturing Company in Belmont can do anything you need. Couple of old timers in there doing all sorts of projects.

Why not use 80/20? There is a place in Pleasanton that sells it kinda cheap.

The extruded aluminum is cheap. But once you start adding up all of the parts needed to assemble it (brackets, screws, etc.), it gets really expensive.

I ended up getting a custom stand made out of steel. I'll dig up a photo.

Here's the finished stand:

The bottom tank has eight S. gigantea carpet anemones and baby clowns (when I have them during grow out). The tank above houses the clownfish pairs.

This looks amazing! What pairs do you have now?

Also, who ended up doing the stand?

Right now I'm working primarily with Onyx (C-Quest/Rod's and wild) and Onyx Picasso. I sold a few pairs prior to rebuilding my system. Right now I have:

1. Rod's Onyx x Rod's Onyx
2. Wild percula (with onyx markings) x Rod's Onyx/Bali Aquarich Onyx Picasso (one of my holdbacks)
3. C-Quest Onyx x Rod's/Bali Aquarich Onyx Picasso (one of my holdbacks)
4. Rod's Onyx x wild onyx
5. Rod's Onyx x Bali Aquarich Onyx Picasso

I worked with Joe Servin of Dark Metal Machine Works based in Oakland. Fabrication was top notch, communication was great (I had a lot of questions and concerns that he quickly addressed) and the paint he suggested looks just like powder-coating at a fraction of the cost. He even delivered it which helped a lot because it ended up being quite large, and would definitely not fit in my SUV.

That's so awesome. I want to build out a tank in a couple years, thinking of just getting a custom crystal dynamics, but would be nice to get a steel stand built locally with a nice wood wrap.

CD makes steel stands now, and will wrap them. Probably best just to go with them so that everything fits properly. Shipping is nominal these days assuming you can wait for the delivery to Neptune and Aquatic Collection.
