Custom Tunze Wavebox Tank

Hey,

I am currently planning a new, 180 (more or less) gallon glass show tank, and I would like to incorporate the tunze into the tank. However, I dont really like the idea of having the box show, so I was wondering if it would be possible to create a type of out-dent (maybe, 6" deep) in about 6" of the side of the tank (this tank will only be visible from the front), so that there would be a little, unnoticable box in which I could put the tunze wavebox? Or would this not work?

Also, sinze this tank will be glass, what type of bracing would be best?

Hi ReefEze,

I dont see a problem with this, I would suggest you purchase a wavebox so you can give it to the manufacturer for sizing before construction of the aquarium.

My only worry is that the box be positioned so that no live rock or obstacles interfere with the flow. This is the real drawback to having a permanent mount.
