Cyano in tank: bad sign for anemone?

I'm planning to get a cloned RBTA in January. My tank will have been set up for 7 months at that point, and has been through the diatom bloom and the hair algae (still have some remnants). I have pods and critters crawling out of the rocks at night, and all kinds of macros volunteering out of my live rock. The tank looks pretty established....

...except that in the last month or so, I've had an outbreak of cyano. I have 150W of MH lighting, so I don't think it's the light (unless the bulb is already going?). I have 2 Vortech MP10s running on the tank, so I doubt it's flow (although there are dead spots that I keep trying to eliminate). I probably do overfeed a little, but it's not like I'm throwing an entire cube of mysis in the tank every night (although I'm sure there's an imbalance somewhere).

Does this mean that my tank isn't ready for a nem yet? I know cyano won't actually hurt an anemone, but I wonder if it indicates some instability or imbalance that would harm it. This is so frustrating...

When I had my cyao all I did was make sure thst all my levels stayed stable for 1 week beor adding an anemone to my tank!If you think you over feed dont feed more than 4 to 5 times a week.Thats all I do.I make my fish look for food in the rocks and where else not!

I think you could do an anemone but I would say the tank and the anemone would be happy if there were no cyano!

But I always say NEVER TRUST CYANO AS IT CAN COME BACK AT ANY TIME......

I got a Red Sea kit and am planning to test, test, test and make sure my parameters are stable before bringing it home. I think it must be an overfeeding thing, because I've had problems with algae in every damn tank I've ever kept, fresh or salt. Fat, happy fish, but algae too.

Do you have plenty of flow? Not enough flow (i.e. dead zones) is a main reason why I had cyayo, and I added another powerhead and it never returned.

Get a good clean up crew!I have had many, many, many tanks before(even fresh)and they all need something to help keep the little bit of food in the that the fish dont eat down.

Also what are your Phosphates testing at?

All of the above :)

Limit feedings, change the lightbulb, increase circulation, frequent water changes.

Cyano definitely is an indication of a problem.

I've had huge outbreaks of cyno with very good parameters and my magnifica has been completely unplussed. Magnifica i believe is fussier about water conditions and flow than RBTA. Oh, and i have loads of flow. Cyno can be a bad sign, but can be more stubborn than people give it credit for, and doesn't preclude you from getting an anem if your parameters are good and also stable.
