CYNARINA , good deal or not

It should do alright. Give it some time to adjust and try and feed it some brine at night to try and make it happy.

Didn't make it guys. Melted away last night. I will leave the skeleton in and hope for some life to return if any tissue survives. Be calling for a refund ,guess i will be loosing out on shipping though. Setting up for a water change now.

Sorry to hear. This is one reason why I really prefer shopping at the LFS. I've just come to accept it sometimes better to pay a little more and let them deal with all the hassles of shipping and losses.

Definitely contact the seller and get the refund or credit, but don't toss it out yet. I've seen more than one completely recover after being reduced to a single bubble of tissue on the skeleton.

Kingfisher, so sorry for not replying- the RC web site has been so slow this past week that I just moved on to drool at the corals on Extreme corals. So sorry about your loss- just have them send you another in its place and try again. I had on a few years ago that was a full 6 inches across when expanded and it was really neat. Out of no where, it retracted and died. But I agree with Seapug- don't throw it out until every bit of tissue is gone. LPS can surprise you and regenerate from little remaining tissue (the tissue that does not die by definition is the most resilient). Good luck on your retry- have them mail it out to you when this cold spell breaks.

I kept the piece in the tank but it looks pretty much devoid of any tissue.
Got my refund but I am not going to order anything till the warmer temps of spring!

I just bought one from LFS in Atlanta for $95! So, that is a great price. One of the most beautiful corals ... it stood out in the store from all the other corals.
Mine needed nearly no flow in order to bubble fully.

I love my cynarina. Its my fav piece. Almost the exact same as the one you lost. The tentacles are always coming out whether lights are on or off. I got mine for $56. It was originally 80 but with 30% off locally.

I know it's been a while but sorry for your loss. Keep an eye out for one! Definetely one of my favorite corals in my tank! They get huge. Here are a couple pics of mine. It is a Rainbow Cynarina.

This is when I first got it(it looks small because it's a bit closed)

Well, I know this is too late to say. But, I've bought a pink aussie cynarina just like that with white stripes in the middle about a month ago and from my experiences it requires really really low water flow. I've put it in an area where it was just low water flow and it expanded to 4-5inches(2.5 inches being the skeleton) and then I transfered it to another low-medium water flow area where it got really stressed out and wouldn't expand to its fullest... So this coral is like a yuma ricordia, it really needs low water flow. Water quality doesn't have to be that great since my water quality isn't so great. I can post a pic later tonight to show how it looks expanded.
