Irregular in shape: lymphocystis is a possibility, viral, no treatment for it except really good water (params in my sig line). I hope these fish are in a long tank where they have ample room for long energetic swimming.

I just lost an anthias in hypo last night.

I searched and found some stuff. Not saying everything you read on the internet is correct. :) But uronema can start as a ulcer. Some have said it can flourish in brackish waters others have said treatment is hypo so I don't know.

RIP.

I'm really getting sick of the work with these fish. With all of life's other responsibilities, it's been more headache than enjoyment.

Should it be uronema, treatment is: freshwater dip, day of rest, then 'prolonged formalin bath,' meaning a mild solution as environment until symptoms go away.

i got these fish 5 weeks ago and after 2 weeks in QT they were showing signs of ich so i transferred to a 20G hospital tank and proceeded hypo.

I am doing 10% WC 5 times per week currently.

after google search this looks like the symptoms, not sure how to proceed as i am sure the hypo for the ich is causing some stress which will not help the lymphocystis....

I will also increase my WC to 20% daily for the next week and see if it clears up.

Well, the good news is lymphocystis is sort of the common cold: you don't die of it, you just wish it would go away. Treat for the things that can kill and let the lymphocystis go until you get through the other treatment. There's no cure for it---just water quality, reduction of stress, etc.

thanks for the info, i will also start to monitor the PH in this tank as i usually dont worry about it in hypo, i am sure it is low.
