d2mini's 130g Rimless Cube

Thanks, Richard!

I can't wait till she's old enough to explain where all the cool stuff in my tank came from. ;)

congrats! I love the picture of her with the dog, so adorable! I have a feeling our dog would just be jealous if we had a child.

Been following your build for some time now and wanted to say what an awesome tank! Congrats to the new addition to your family! I hope you dont mind but i had to incorporate your stand design to my current project. Its simply my all time favorite!

Congrats, d2mini! I love this thread. Beautiful tank, beautiful dog, beautiful kid, beautiful photography. I can get my fill of pretty stuff in this thread alone. :)

Well I just spent the better part of today perusing the whole thread. BEST TANK (and tank thread) I'VE EVER SEEN... Even though I'm just getting started with a lowly 6 gal. EDGE, this has been very inspiring. Beautiful baby girl too...

Thanks! Welcome to the forums and the world of reefing.

Do you mean the 6g Fluval Edge. I have one at work, with upgraded CF lighting, and it still is not a good saltwater tank. Very difficult as a first tank, and very limiting as to what you can keep in it.

Dennis,

She is beautiful. Congratulations to you and your wife. Only the best for you and your family.

Tank is looking awesome as usual. I am sure that you are appreciating the automation right about now.

Congrats on your baby! This tank is seriously so inspiring. I was showing my girlfriend this thread and she (the non-hobbyist) is loving this tank / house setup possibly even more than me.

I read through quite a bit of all 33 pages, and this probably has been asked... but I didn't see it. Are you worried about any jumpers? Or do you keep a mesh top on it when you are not around?

I was also wondering if you have a livestock list in the tank? I noticed 2 tangs? How are they enjoying the cube dimensions? I like the idea of a 4ft space length for extra swimming room, but the extra depth for aquascaping looks too incredible. So I am thinking the 36x36 may work fine for a few tangs? and a few other fish?

Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi, thanks!

I don't worry about jumpers because I don't get fish that tend to jump.
Ya, it's a bit disappointing sometimes but I just love the way it looks and I'm more interested in the corals and other critters than the fish.

Yes, there are two tangs... a Kole and a Scopas.
They don't have much horizontal swimming room, but they do fine and I stick to the smaller ones. I'm probably pushing it. I want more tangs but I feel bad adding more.

I also have one blue chromis, a pair of mated australian black clowns, and a blue ora mandarin. I love having a cube. Next time I'd probably want to go even bigger. Same height or a couple inches shorter, but at least 4ft square. :D
