d2mini's 130g Rimless Cube

That pic looks like it was taken from the ocean. Love the natural look of your tank, Dennis. Excellent work!

Thanks!
That pic shows some of the macro algae i just put in about a week ago. :)
I got a bunch of different ones to see which ones do better in my tank.

Ok, i've had a few requests for an updated video and I finally got around to it.
You'll get a walk-around of the tank, see the overflow in detail, check out the equipment under the stand, and then finally see the auto water change system.
Please excuse the mess (and my lousy videographer skills) and enjoy! :)

Great video d2mini, very well documented. I can see that you took your time and planed your system very well, everything works great together. It’s great that you have so much access under the stand, which is one thing that I had to sacrifice on my own stand. Your tank has come a long way, congratulations on a very healthy system.

Looks really healthy. What a great system. How Did you make the rock tower? Epoxy?

How's your bioload? It looked light from what I saw.

Thanks! The rock tower is epoxy. Before, both mounds were originally about the same height. The tower was added to that one mound about 6 months ago.
My bioload is on the light side but i think it's a little deceiving. I have two tangs, two clowns, one chromis, one ora mandarin, and I did add a cardinal recently but he jumped the other night. That's just the fish though. I have a lot of inverts. That one big orange starfish, a purple serpent star, a brown brittle star, 3 big cucumbers, a cleaner shrimp, the two fire shrimp, the rose anemone, the tube anemone, one derasa clam, one red scallop, and of course a bunch of turbo snails, ceriths, blue leg hermits, etc.

Great tank d2mini. I've been following your build thread from the beginning and every time I see it I'm even more impressed. I liked the two 1 gallon containers you used for the 2 part solutions. I especially liked how thin they are. Can you tell me where you obtained them from ( or the manufacturers name). I'm even more limited space wise than you. Again, I loved the new video.

Bulk Reef Supply.

That's not too bad for a bioload then. Any thoughts on replacing the cardinal?

How's the mandarin doing? The ORA ones eat more than just pods don't they? What are you doing for pods?

I'll eventually replace him with something, not sure yet.
The mandarin is fine. He was part of a mated pair but the female didn't make it. She lasted a while and wasn't skinny but eventually disappeared. They never ate anything I put in the tank, just pods. I don't do anything special and the mandarin is still here, so I assume there's plenty of pods. They were tiny tiny when I got them and he's getting pretty big now.

Wow .. I sat down this afternoon to hook into a bit of study and your thread completely ruined that... Read the entire thing start-finish...

I am in the very early stages of planning a tank with the same dimensions, so this build is truely inspirational :)

As (many) others have said.. Great tank, great house, great photography. Congratulations on the upcoming baby girl :) I've got a girl who's 3 in a couple of weeks and a 1 month old boy and they really are the best thing you could ever do...

Amazing tank - the diversity is wonderful! I plan to read more of the thread when I have the time.

That's wonderful about the baby - haha, life's gonna change!!! :)

Congrats on the news of the addition to your family Dennis, the start of a new adventure. I don't know what I would do without my little reefing buddy keeping me busy, he's 5.

hahahaha, thanks guys! 4 more weeks till d-day! :D

Here's a new FTS:

Holy crap that's a great shot! What lens? I just took some new photos of my tank with my 50mm 1.8 that my wife got me recently. Love the video too. It's nice to see it alive.

Oh and congrats on the new "addition" ! :)
