That rock looks awesome. How heavy was each box? Something one guy can lift?
Heck ya... Drove to Austin! Blue skies. HahahaNice progress Dennis. Hope you are staying dry.
I tend to go with the size equal to the gallons of my tank for the sand and critters but cut back a little on the rock.Since our tanks are nearly identical, how much sand / rock are you going with?
Thanks! Wait till part 2 arrives.Looking great!!! I know where I'm getting some LR next time.
Dennis,
When I look at your sump I don't see any emergency drains. Did I miss this somewhere?
haha yup! Always some cool stuff.Looks nice. Already have some adventurous hitchhikers
Thanks!Dennis thank you so much for such a detailed, quality build thread. Everything looks great man, keep up the good work.
lol, yeah... purple short spine. There's a baby one in there too.Thats one big hitchhikin' urchin!
Thanks!Dennis,
How does the "bit of an emergency drain" work? I ask because I am considering a sump similar to your design, but for a cube tank. Oh, and your build is nothing less than spectacular.
Looking good Dennis!
I know everything eventually will be covered in corals, but I LOVE the scape so far. the small overhang/swim through on the middle right is great!
haha yup! Always some cool stuff.
Thanks!

There's an air valve that gets covered if the water rises too high.
Turns the drain into a siphon. Here's the old article on RB.
