*d2mini's new 200g Reeftastic Build*

Looks great Dennis. Ref the return pump, you could just tee off the output and run it back to the sump?

I have a dart and a snapper (both used) but they both have 1.5" inlet. I'm changing pumps. If you are interested, send me a PM.
Thanks, if I decide to go that direction I'll let you know.

looking great man.. tagging along for this
Thanks! Welcome aboard. Enjoy your stay. :D

Ya, definitely. I just don't want that to be the majority of my flow meaning I'm running too much pump. No sense in that. Will see how it goes. 1000gph to the chiller may or may not allow me to open it up a lot more.

Setup looks good.....can't wait to see more pics of the tank
Forget the tank. Let's see more pics of your avatar. :D

great tank build. Man you have a killer clean setup with great space for a fish room. beats me climbing behind my stand. can't wait to see it running.

Am I missing something or didn't your tank have 2 sets of drains drilled? It looks like you are only using one set, did you just cap off the other set?

what fish will you keep..
Anything reef safe.

also what will your lighting consist of..?
4 Radions.

Ya, the left side is capped off. Builder drilled that side first. Told them to cap it and drill the other side. Thought about using that side for returns but decided against it.

The system is running full time now!

And I upgraded my Red Dragon pump's intake nozzle. :)

Ya, everything you've seen so far is still being tweaked slightly, and I still have to hook up my ATO and Auto Water Change setup. But video is definitely in the plan once everything is ready.

Here's some details on my mounting solution for the lights.

I needed a temporary solution until I have the custom cabinetry built at which point the Radions will get mounted inside the hood. But that will be a while, so for now I was looking for a solution where I didn't need to hang each light individually, and I wanted to be able to slide the lights side to side incase there was need for adjustment. This setup was thrown together fairly quickly so it's not the prettiest, but it works. Consider it a beta unit that could be made to look prettier. But what I ended up with will influence what I do inside the hood when I get to that point.

Basically, it's just two 9' sections of hollow square aluminum bar from Lowes that I cut down to 7' and cut a channel down the center with a table saw.
Sprayed them with some primer and then a quick coat of black.
Got some longer bolts that thread into the radion mounting screws and some washers. This is what holds the radions in the aluminum bar, and they can slide back and forth.
Then I realized I needed to tie the two bars together for support so they didn't twist so I got some 12" x 1/4" threaded rods from Home Depot and some matching washers and nuts and drilled holes through the sides. One rod on each end.
The wires used to hang from the ceiling are typical Sunlight Supply hanging kit hardware, or what Ecotech sells as their hanging kit. I think this was the same hardware I had from my beta units.
I just sent the other end of the wire through the ceiling sheetrock and secured it in the attic.

The radions just slide in from each end and can slide back and forth for infinite side to side adjustment.
