Damaged 6100

I have 2 6100's and both of the alarms went off on the same day.. I took the first apart and noticed a serious calcium build up on the inner shaft where the magnet goes.... I used an awl and was able to scrape away all of the build up with no harm done at all...

I moved to the 2nd 6100 to notice the same build up, only this time when i went to scrape off the calcium build up the inner shaft was severly damaged.

Aside from buying a whole new 6100 for a few hundred dollars can anything be done to fix or replace this pump? :(

Can you tell me which part number it is... i looked at the 6100 motor block but the plug does not look the same as the one i have... i have mine running on the controller.

I was hopping by chance roger would say, sure send me the damaged motor block and he'd replace/repair the motor block.

Part number for the motor block is 6100.015

copy and past the whole link above.

You mention the plug does not look the same, if this is what you looked at you actually will not see the plug on yours unless you opened up the driver box.

How old is the pump? The warranty is 2 years from date of purchase if you have the receipt. Or if no reciept goes by date stamp on the motor.

I am sure Roger will chime in on Monday when he returns.

Your right shawn after looking at it again the wire on my motor goes right into the drive box.... there is no actual the plug... the plug goes from that black round thing to the drive box.

If you open the driver box the pump plugs in inside, this is covered in the manual, it is fairly simple to replace the motor. You can send it in but if the motor indeed is damaged the only repair is to replace the motor. For the future never use anything but vinegar and a soft brush. You can just pour vinegar in the hole and with a few hours most will be dissolved.
