damsel, if you have to choose...

I have had yellow tail blue damsels (C. parasema) and several other types of damsels. I would recommend the yellow tail blue as the best and least aggressive of any damsel I have had experience with. I keep one in my 55 gallon tank and it gets along well with my clownfish, mandarin fish, and yellow watchman goby. It gets fiesty once in awhile but the group get along fine. I got rid of my other damsels (the ones that survived all of the aggression). I also had three in a 75 gallon tank that included other types of fish. If you decide on multiples put them in all at the same time.

thanks for the input gr3.

anybody else has an opinion about the blueback damsel or bluegold damsel??? any thoughts? i haven't heard anything good yet about these fish. anybody had a good/great experience with them?

I had my Azure for a few years and he bothers nobody. Mainly bright blue body with yellow lower half. Not as easy to fine as some the others, but worth it in my opinion.

talbots in my LFS are black body with white tail. they turn kinda purple or neon purple when they eat is that the one you're talking about? is it the same characteristic as talbots?

You are welcome bng.fixious. I have heard good things about the Azure too and it has awesome colors too. Good luck with whatever type you choose.

The rowdiest in my experience is the blue velvet, and the domino.
In general, if you only get one of a kind, you will not have aggression issues if you have a tank over 100 g. I have an azure and a chromis in a 54 and they're perfectly good roomies. They quarrel, but there are no nipped fins.
