Damsels

I see many people having great luck in breeding clowns and even rearing fry. How difficult is it to get damsels to breed and rear fry in captivity, specifically 3 stripes or dominos? Do you have to have a school, or just a pair, do you need special corals or just adequate deco?

Clowns are damsels. They just happen to be easiest and most cost effective damsel to raise ;) The Dacyllus genus (3 stripes and dominos) are actually easy to breed, just need a pair. However, they have large clutches of small larvae. So the larvae are bit more work to raise.

A local lady was breeding a type of damsel (forgot which one) a few years ago, and said it wasn't too difficult (very similar to A. ocellaris.) She stopped, though, as they required more time and effort than the usually-bred clownfish, and weren't as profitable.
