Dana's Hitchhiker

I'm currently messing with S. tapetums :D I spent months looking for them and had to pay more then I would have liked for them.

Awesome find Dana!

I don't get it.

At the meeting she was asking what her hitchhiker was on a coral frag... It is a mini carpet anemone... :)

Donny~ How many do you have??? Clownfish don't host S. Tapetums do they???

Randy, I have two now. I'm looking for different morphs, but so far, it seems everyone just has the same morphs. Anyways, they don't host clowns and are literally less then an 1" in diameter. Tiny suckers.

Oh... I thought they got to be 2-3"???

Yeah, there's two kinds. The mini are like 1" and the maxi's are bigger. I haven't seen any maxi's around.

I just noticed a cool hitchhiker...that's ironic. It must have come in on my live rock from 8 months ago(?). I'll have to post a pic. It's a red with yellow 'bubbles' Caribbean mushroom, best I can tell...about the size of a pencil eraser.

Here's a pic of that hitchhiker... It must have come in on my live rock and been dormant for the last 6+ months. I'm guessing it's some kind of sanctithomae mushroom. It has a red base and skirt with yellow warts/bubbles on the surface. Note the zoas for size reference...tiny!
