People sure love pictures... :D

As you can tell from the pictures, there are still lots of frags/colonies that still need to be attached or moved to the frag tank. Sometimes I don't know why I am so lazy when I could just use the tongs and pick them up. I should probably do it tonight :)

The red m. cap on the right side was really shaded under my s. hystrix for many months, so only a little bit of it is vibrant. Hopefully it will color back up soon.

Good news! I just picked up most of the frags, mounted them, and placed them in the frag tank.
Good job self... :D

You deserve a cold one

I've been pondering the past few days what to do with the background... I bought some black self-adhesive vinyl, and it's just been sitting around.
However, like I mentioned before, I was intrigued when I read invincible569's (may I call you Ed?) blog with the illuminated airbrushed background. Since it is just a blank wall behind the tank, I'm considering it as a possibility...

Haha... so how do I hire an artist?

OR, I use my old 720p projector and illuminate the back with limited scenes from Planet Earth's section on coral reefs. Just kidding, but it's a fun idea.

Thanks. I also like it without a background probably because of blue light cast on the back wall which gives it a little more depth. But I really hate the wires and tubing visible.

sweet set up looks great very nice job. in ur pics above are all the lamps on? looks really blue not bad just blue. im about to finish up my 375 and i will be running t5s as well 12 80w lamps. anyway great job...

Dan,
For the back ground why don't you paint some poster board/foam board black and attach it wit some Velcro strips it works very well. So if you ever want to change it to blue you still can.

No, so far all the pictures were with just two blue plus bulbs on each fixture. I intend to take some with all the bulbs on too.

I really like the WaveBox. You can see the effects of the wave all the way on the other side. And you can definitely see the wave it makes at the top of the tank.
But I think on an 8ft+ tank, it's probably helpful to have a slave unit.

You can achieve 1.5" wave in your tank with just 1 wavebox. I have done it before in my friend tank 96x30x24 (300g). But if you want to get large wave, you can get an extension box. But i don't think it is a good idea for rimless tank. JMO

Thank you for posting the closed up pic of your aquascape. :D

Yeah, I get about a 1.5" wave too. It's just that the corals at the other side of the tank don't seem to move that much with the wave like others do on the left side of the tank.
The polyps only move considerably when the WavySea comes around.

It's 1". Actually a strange thing happened with that too.. When I opened the box, I couldn't find the 1" barb fitting. It only came with the 3/4", but I distinctly remember seeing it came with 3/4" and 1". So I double checked, and I was right.
I had to get one shipped to me.

I am going to use 6 of the Wavysea tunze holder to hold my tunze instead of using the magnet... Thank you for the info. Again, your tank look sweet and i love the aquascape. I hope you don't mind me copy your style for my new tank. :D

Wow.. sounds awesome! I saw some of your other ideas for your new tank. Seems like it'll be really top notch.
And of course I do not mind. I don't even feel like I did much original.
