I got mine from www.protein-skimmer.com

That is Orca, and they have the DAS EX-1, only, and a much better shipping record. I recommend ordering all EX-1's from them.

They do not have the EX-2 or EX-3, but could easily custom make one for you...

I wonder why they dont consider carrying the EX-2 and 3... it would be good business for them.

They probably make more constructing clones of them.

Sorry for the confusion just want to make sure I'm looking at the right thing here. At www.protein-skimmer.com is the D.A. Needle Wheel Skimmer the DAS EX-1? And also would you say it is basically the same as the Deltec AP600?

Thanks,

Yes, I would consider them to be close to the same.

Hmm. I thought the EX-1 was supposed to be more like an APF600. Still a good price compared to the Deltec.

I had some confusion a while back about this as well.

Apperently, the EX-1 uses the larger AB2000/1 pump. If this is correct, it puts it inline with the apf600. If not, it more like the ap600.

It has the larger 2000/1 pump, it also has more height and a slightly larger base than the AP600, just like the APF600, but then the smaller cup.

Basically it is an APF600 with a smaller cup from my research of the dimensions and pump used.

Thanks and nobody actually mentioned it but is that the right skimmer I'm looking at. The DA NeedleWheel is actually the DAS EX-1?

Hey guys, question.

How much clearance do I need to get the cup off an EX-1. A friend is looking into one and says he has 25" of stand height to work with.

My first run with my DAS EX-1. A big smile on my face to go with it.

Can't wait to get it plumbed tommorow.

How did you run it with out it plumbed?? Did you just fill it and turn the recirc pump on?? What did you fill it with??

Don't know about the ex-1, but I have the ex-2 and I need maybe an inch of clearance. If that.

My EX-1 is really starting to run well. Here is yesterdays skimmate production for less than 24-hours. Just about to clean it.

Need to install a drain today... I was able to ramp up the bubbles and got the same amount in aroun 12-hours, just slightly clearer, but still quality...

that is awesome....I am going to order one from orca in the comming days. My stand is being built as we speak. So i am just about to make my purchase, looking foward to this skimmer. It beat out my thoughts on H&S A110 and Deltec ap600. The specs are just about identical.
