What problem where you having? You are the first person i seen say they needed a gate valve.

The problem was getting the foam level at the right height. I just couldn't get it dialed in well enough with the stock method. I tried a ball valve wasn't sensitive enough either so I went with a gate that did the trick.

How much room do you have? I have an EX-2 on my 90.

I guess that partially depends. How easy is this skimmer to run outside of the sump area? Right now my current skimmer "compartment" in my sump is maybe 11" x 16" or so. I'll need to check the dimensions on the EX-2 to see if I can fit it somewhere.

It should be very easy to set up externally. I doubt you will have enough room for in sump installation @ 11" x 16".

I'm still loving this skimmer. I did a mesh mod (just put the mesh over the pins) on one of the pumps. Honestly I didn't see any performance gains and it runs so well stock I took the mod off.

No it doesn't. You'll have to adapt it with a smaller hose.

Thanks, any pics, because i pickup a minijet 606 for it and since the tubing is less than one foot long were did you place the adapter and more importantly where did you buy it? I could not find any combination that would work for me, while looking at local Home Depot and Lowes. I did find a powerhead that does work, an Eheim 1212 Aquaball Powerhead it has an adjustable flow rate with maximum of 172 gph but i like the MINI 606 which has much more flow than the eheim 1212 and is also adjustable.

I just used 1/2" tubing. The 1/2" tubing fix nicely into the gate valve. I have never had a problem with it coming out either.

I'm going to be geting an EX-3 and can I feed this strait from the tank over flow? And if so how? Any pic.s would be great thanks.

I don't think the connection is that straight forward.

DAS does not even have any other "retail" products....

I talked to peteroma on the phone and they told me it's the same family that owns both DAS and petoroma.

My EX 1 came today, Within 2 days!!!

SO i can feed it wityh a MJ 1200 or should i use a 900, 600 etc?

I just put the MJ in the sump, get the apprpriate tubing connect to the skimmer and plug it in?

Just my opinion based on the size of the EX1 I would use the 900. I think the 1200 would be to much flow for it. It's almost to much for the EX2.
