DasCamel's 375 DT build. What could go wrong?

Kilz layer placed on the top plywood and a thin water resistant piece for under.

Stand leveled to perfection. Used a wood planar for the first time, loving the power tools.

Painting on an enamel semi gloss black then securing the top and bottom on. Rain limiting factor...

Once tank is in place, going to polish. Much more stable and easy to work on the stand. Back, neck, shoulder issues really suck as you get older. Another major limiting factor.

Great timing for Black Friday sales. Ordered bulk of the plumbing, 75 pounds more of BRS rock, and couldn't resist.

A XF280 Maxspect. Coupled with power heads I already have, should work nicely.

This time around going to epoxy and acrylic rod the live rock together. With a bare bottom and proper spacing plenty of flow to keep any debris from being trapped. While keeping plenty of hiding and sleeping spaces.

Sunny today, having friends and family help next couple days get more progress.

Added: Tunze ATO system, some bulbs for the T5 from ATI and Geis. Blue Plus and actinic. Figured the Hydra 52 have plenty of white power.

So the sump. 72" × 15" x 18". Effectively free, came with the tank and stand. With a standalone box that goes inside.

Just cleaned it out and water tested. Flimsy but functional, going to support it in the sump with wood behind a weak point, some bulging. 70% running water height to be safe.

Just noticed four bulkhead holes behind it lol. Something else to patch. Free is well, free.... More money for Black Friday toys.

Now that I have it in the final place. Thinking about using drywall and effectively framing it like an in wall peninsula tank. Anyway food for thought while building overflows and polishing. Need to figure out how to use all the space under the tank. Storage compartments also sounding nice.

Can't wait to start aquascaping.

Genius idea, may put up the lights to test and brighten up the place to polish and clean.

One idea for using space under the tank might be to enclose a separate space for controllers and other electronics so they aren't directly exposed to high humidity levels.

I like it!

Looking at the drywall idea, that support pillar will bump right up on the corner. Not sure how to handle it, or if I like it.

So 36" of weir with 1" teeth peninsula end. I'm guessing not enough flow allowed?

Father and daughter bonding time over power tools. Fairly sure she thinks I'm crazy. :) Cutting the holes in the external overflow. Bulkheads are huge, max flow won't be an issue..

Progress. So happy, made a 4 walled box with 3 holes.

35" of weir cut and welded together. Coast to coast the short way. Using the board to make sure tank edge is very straight. Making attaching it with Weld On 4 super easy. Used a router and sand paper to match the edges.

Listening to some tunes, thinking about what's next. View of the tank lying down on the couch. One day...

Primer and siliconed like crazy.

DCT 15000 tested, insane flow.

Plumbing 1.5" is a new experience, my cutter doesn't fit. Just going to use the table saw.

More Sunday.

If you have a chop saw and the cheap blade it came with that is great for the PVC cutting. Looking good!

Looking pretty good.

I think those dice fish are multiplying though. You might want to get those in check.
