Tis the season... I would like to get a tank tour scheduled for our area, preferably around the 29th as every other group is doing theirs the 22nd and I don't want to stop anyone from going to the others. This will also give us another week to prepare.

Tank tours are pretty easy to plan and we can run through a few places in an afternoon. I currently am swamped at school so anyone willing to help plan this event please pm me.

As for the rest of you, please post here or pm me if you are willing to allow a few fellow reef geeks to view your tanks. This is a great opportunity to show off your hard work, get direct information/feedback about your set up, and help in any area you have questions from those coming to see your tank. This is also a great time to meet others with the same addiction you have in a fun and laid back atmosphere.

Be a part of the first Quad City tank tour and sign up today!!!

I'm down though I don't know how much I'll have to show by that time. Should have the new tank set up by then, maybe. It will be nice to see everyones tanks that I haven't seen yet.

I'm game and willing to help out. I guess well need to find out who's in it and map out locations.:D

It would be nice to Post some flyer up at the local SW stores if they will let us. Maybe snag a few new members in the process.

Good idea Covey.

I am in too, as long as I am in town for it. Once we have a date let me know.

We have not set a date yet. I have been swamped and I want to make sure our first area tour is done right. We will need a few more tanks to visit and I am hoping we can get a couple really nice ones to throw in the mix.

If anyone has some time to put this thing together let me know and also let me know if you have a friend that has a tank we wouldn't want to miss.

What can I do to help you plan the event? Between work, travel, and school I am very time limited, but will help any way I can. Let me know.

Billy

I've seen quite few setups in the QC. Alot of your system are cooler than you think. Everyones tank is worth seeing.

As for me I going to try and knock out the rest of my stand by tour time.

Does anyone want to BBQ?

If I remember correctily even ill-tempered Damsel jails are worth seeing.

and if I did forget I guess I'd better see it again:D

You mean ill tempered damsel death chamber, he succumbed to a piece of broken glass he ate when I had a pc light fall out of a clamp and bust. Its now just a QT, lps, overrun tank. I am moving things to it that don't care for the MH. It is actually probably going to turn into a sump for a frag tank, maybe before the tour even.

I actually felt bad about the damsel, he was nearly six and has lived in more states then most people.

I would love to be involved with the tank tour, but I work on Saturdays. What would be the time fram for this tour? I am usually off of work at 3:00pm.
When time is set maybe I can work early....
My tank is not much but I have done it myself so that is the reason!! LOL
I guess I will wait to find out the time frame.

Becky

I would like to be involved with the tank tour. I will be in the process of moving. If it is after the move my tank might not be very pretty. I will let you all know how the move goes, and if my tank is worth viewing after it is settled in my new place. I also wanted to ask everyone what it takes to be a member. Is there intense hazing involved?

Uhhh, you have to supply us with free frags and beer for the first six months.

Here is a link to the website, Link to Girs Website

You will see the link there for membership, fill it out and send your dues to Mr. Rolling in Coralville. Or attend the next meeting, which ever is easier for you.

Thank you sir may I have another!

Kidding you may be able to sign up with Travis directily too.

I guess everyone can PM me with the dates they are availble for the tour and we can try to accomadate everyone. I am home most weekends, with the occasional travel day on Saturday that puts me home around 1pm.

Next weekend, 28-29th, I am planning to go to IMAC for a day or two, but other then that I am free. Not sure if anyone in the Quad Cities is doing the Omaha Zoo tour on the weekend after that, so that may be a good weekend. I get home Friday night late, so Sunday the 6th would be better for me so I can make sure that the tank is worth looking at when the tour is ready.

Let me know what dates work for those that want to take part.

If there is still interest in hanging flyers up for the tank tour let me know, I can ask at least Aquatic Environments if we can post something in there since I am there practically everyday anyway.

I was hoping for the weekend of the 28-29th as I have the whole weekend off. I was originally going to go to IMAC but I started the new tank and the funds went bye-bye but I had already put in for my vacation time. Most weekends are an issue for me so I was looking foward to this going down during my vacation.

Anytime that weekend is good.

If I want two days over there at IMAC I can take the Friday off or something, so the weekend of the 28th-29th can work for me as well.

Anyone else?

I'm good with a BBQ, we can do it at my place, fire up the grill
and do some burgers and brats. A Saturday would work best
for me.
